Dec[31]- Brothers Angus(b. March 31, 1955, Glasgow, Scotland) and Malcolm(b. Jan 6, 1953, Glasgow, Scotland) Young debut the hard-rock group at the chequers club in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ( where the family emerged in 1963), with Rob Bailey, Peter Clark and singer Dave Ecans. In July the following year, the group records its first single, Can I sit next to you girl?, for Albert Productions, run by producers Harry Vanda and Gerorge Young ( Angus's older brother). The original line-up disbands shortly thereafter, and the Young brothers, now relocated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, recruit the gourp's roadie, fellow immigrant and veteran of bands the Spector, the Valentines, Fraternity and Mount Lofty Rangers since the mid-'60's, Bon Scott on volcals. Drummer Rudd and bassis Mark Evans.
1974
Nov- After gaining a resendency at the Hampton Court Hotel in Sydney and touring solidly throughout the year, building a live following for its exuberant hard-rock style, AC/DC has signed to the Albert Productions and begins work on its debut album.
1975
Feb- Resultant power-charged  High Voltage is released in Australia featuring the single Dog Eat Dog.
Dec- After touring Australia for much of the year, the group's second album T.N.T is released.
1976
Jan- On singing to Atlantic Records, the band moves its base to the UK, where early dates are at London's Marquee and other clubs.
Apr- First UK single , It's A Long Way To The Top, is released.
May[11]- AC/DC begins UK tour, supporting Paul Kossoff's Back Street Crawler, at the Marquee, as High Voltage is issued in the UK (different to its Australian namesake, the album is a collection of tracks  from it's first two Australian releases). The nine-date series will end at Reading Town Hall, Reading Berks.
June[11]- The group begins its first headlining UK tour, the 19-date " Lock Up Your Daughters" package, at the City Hall, Gloasgow, set to end London's Lyceum ballroom, on July 7th. Their image with Angus Young as a short-trousered naughty schoolboy, helps attract attention, becoming an enduring and popular visual trademark.
July- The band begins tour in Europe, supporting Rainbow.
Aug- AC/DC appears at the annual "ReadingRock Festival", Reading , during further UK trek which accompanies the release "Jailbreak".
Oct.- The group undertakes its maiden US visit with a club itinerary promoting the recently release High Voltage.
Dec- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is released in the UK, as the band reurns to Australia for a 26-date, year-end tour and stays for the recording of its next album in Sydney with Vanda and Young.
1977
Feb[18]- The band begins a 25-date UK concert trek at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Scotland, se to end March 21st at the Pavilion, Hemel, Hempstead, Herts.
June- Tired of touring , Evans leaves and Williams , ex-Bandit and Home, is chosen from 50 replies to a Sounds ad. Williams first gigs with the band will be a major European tour supporting Black Sabbath.
July- AC/DC begins its second US tour.
Oct[15]- Let There Be Rock climbs to US # 154.
Nov[19] Let There Be Rock climbs to UK # 17.
1978
May[1]- A month-long 20-date UK "Powerage" tour( supported by the British Lions) opesn at the Town Hall, Middlesbrough, Cleneland, set to end on the 29th at Dundee Carid Hall, Dundee, Scotland, to be punctuated b recordings for the next album.
[20]- Powerage  peaks at US #154.
July[15]- Rock' n' Roll Damnation, the groups first UK hit single, reaches # 24.
Sept[23] - Powerage peaks at US # 133
Nov[4] - If You Want Blood You Got It, recorded live in Glasgow during Powerage tour, reaches UK # 13.
[13]- The band performs on BBC2-TV's "Rock Goes To College".
1979
Jan- Highway To Hell  recordings begin, with producer Rober John "Mutt" Lange brought in to oversee the sessions midway.
Feb[17]-  If You Want Blood You Got It  peaks at US # 113.
Aug[18] Highway To Hell hits UK #8, as the group supports the Who at Wembley Stadium, Wembley, London, on a bill with Nils Lofgren yet another European and US tour.
Sept[15]-  Highway To Hell peaks UK # 56.
Nov[10]- Highway To Hell , spurred by their current US trek supporting Cheap Trick, Ted Nugent and UFO, reaches US #17, where it will become the bands first million-seller.
Dec- During further European dates, a gig in Paris, France, is filmed and will be released as Let There Be Rock.
[12]- Highway To Hell makes US # 47.
